Newport Beach PD Officers Attend NYPD Funeral


Two Newport Beach Police Department officers, along with thousands and thousands of other police representatives from throughout the United States and Canada, were in New York City today to attend the funeral of a Officer Rafael Ramos, one of two officers killed last weekend as they sat in their car.

Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu were killed as they sat in their patrol car on a Brooklyn street. The gunman later killed himself.

News accounts of today’s funeral state that thousands of officers greeted the hearse carrying Ramos, whose casket was covered with a NYPD flag.

Newport Beach police officers Mike Fletcher and Roland Stucken represented the department at today’s funeral.
